I'm Mikayla

I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Mikayla, the proud owner of Brown Sugar Body Hair Specialist. I'm a licensed beauty therapist and have been since 2017. My passion leads me into opening Brown Sugar to provide a natural, vegan, and sustainable beauty salon for people in the Gympie Region. 

I began my journey as a beauty therapist to help others with their skin concerns. Growing up, I had severe eczema and struggled with my confidence due to skin inflammation, irritation, and painful open lesions covering most of my body. Once I understood the skin functionality, I realised I had to strengthen it, so I stopped my steroid creams and started my skin health journey.

Being a teenager with sensitive skin, means waxing and shaving is impossible. Luckily for me, my mum being a beauty therapist came across sugaring and the rest is history. This natural, gentle hair removal treatment changed my life. Come and try sugaring for yourself, you won't be disappointed. I can't wait to meet you all and share my passion.
